Forage is a tactile nature game for 1–4 players. Guide your beehive through the four seasons: gather flowers, breed bees, and survive winter.
Across the year your bees forage for nectar and pollen, raise new bees, and build up enough stores to survive Winter.
Forage is a light-to-medium Euro game disguised as a cute nature game. It focuses on strategy, optimisation, resource management, and indirect interaction rather than luck or combat.
Every piece is magnetic or wooden, made to feel as good as it plays.
Play over 12 rounds as the Sun moves through Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.
Start with one Forager and one hive. Trade flowers to breed new bees with different jobs.
Four magnetic flowers fill the meadows: easy Dandelion pollen for breeding, centre Sunflowers for quick nectar, dependable Eucalyptus for Scouts, and rare outer-edge Mānuka for the biggest score. Carry them home to store or breed.
An empty hive can be robbed. Flowers inside are safe, except from the Bear.
A curious visitor always looking for something sweet.
The Bear wanders the meadows, woods, and fields, sniffing out honey, robbing hives, and stirring up just enough trouble to keep every round interesting.
After the 12th round, score flowers and bees in your hive. Sets of three matching flowers are doubled. Highest total builds the strongest hive.
Forage was exclusive to Kickstarter. I have no plans to take this game to retail outlets.
This is a one-off: a nature-themed, high-quality, magnetic game made for this production run, not a retail shelf.
It was refined for years, rebuilt from the ground up after the first Kickstarter, and thoroughly tested with three fully manufactured prototype copies.
Hi, I’m Yari. I’m a beekeeper from Mullumbimby, Australia, and I’ve been building this game since Christmas 2017.
I’m passionate about bees, and after years of showing kids at Main Arm Primary School how hives work and why bees are so important, I wanted to bring that same hands-on fun into a game.
I helped launch the Flow Hive in 2015 — the hexagon wooden offcuts inspired my first version of Forage.
After my first Kickstarter, I rebuilt the game from the ground up. In 2025, the second campaign raised AU$48,674 and funded production.
